Add comfort and elegance with bedroom runner rugs

Bedroom runner rugs are the perfect way to enhance the comfort, style, and warmth of your bedroom. Whether you’re aiming to soften cold floors, add a splash of colour or bring a luxurious finishing touch to your space, a well-placed runner rug can make all the difference. Designed to fit neatly alongside beds or beneath bedroom furniture, these slim and stylish bedroom runners help define your space while adding texture and personality.

Choosing the right bedroom runner rug

When comes to bedroom rugs, choosing a runner is a top choice. But, before selecting a runner rug for your bedroom, consider the following:

• Size: Measure the length of your bed and ensure the runner extends slightly beyond both ends for a well-proportioned look.
• Material: For plush comfort, opt for wool or shaggy runners. For easy maintenance, synthetic fibres or cotton blends work well.
• Style: Match your runner to your bedroom décor — neutral tones for a calming feel or bold patterns for a modern edge.
• Placement: Bedroom runners are most commonly placed on one or both sides of the bed, at the foot of the bed, or along walkways in larger bedrooms.

What size should a bedroom runner rug be?

Bedroom runner rugs typically range from 70 to 80 cm wide and 200 to 400 cm long. Choose a length that runs most of the bed’s side, ideally extending at least 15–30 cm past the head and foot of the bed.

Where should I place a runner rug in a bedroom?

The most common placement is alongside the bed, allowing your feet to land on the runner when you get up. You can also place a bedroom runner at the foot of the bed, in front of wardrobes or along walkways in larger rooms.

Can I use multiple runner rugs in one bedroom?

Yes — using a matching pair on either side of a double or king-size bed can create a symmetrical, balanced look. Just ensure the patterns and colours complement your bedroom’s overall theme.
