Berber Colourful - A Accent Piece to Warm Your Home

Handcrafted in Afghanistan, this one-of-a-kind round rug brings character and warmth to your interior with its expressive pattern.

This round Berber Colourful rug brings a calm yet characterful feel to living spaces and bedrooms. Crafted from wool, the pile feels soft and substantial underfoot, providing acoustic comfort and warmth to wooden or tiled floors. Its generous 14 mm thickness gives it a comforting structure that makes any corner feel more inviting.

Made with wool, the fibers naturally resist daily wear while maintaining their natural flexibility and tactile depth. The unique circular shape offers a soft contrast to straight-lined furniture, making it ideal under a small coffee table or as a focal point in an open layout.

As a true one-of-a-kind piece, no two rugs share this exact arrangement or character. Owning it means bringing a completely unique piece of craft into your home that cannot be found anywhere else.

Woven in Afghanistan, the rug reflects a rich craft heritage. Its balanced pile offers both comfort and long-lasting durability for daily indoor living.

Berber rugs originate from the nomadic communities of North Africa, though their distinctive design language has inspired weavers across neighboring regions, including Afghanistan. Afghan artisans have embraced these tribal motifs, combining local woolworking skills with expressive geometric traditions.

Hand knotting is one of the oldest textile techniques in existence. By securing row upon row of individual knots onto a structural frame, weavers create a resilient pile that retains its beauty over decades of use.

The design features traditional diamond structures and tribal elements set against a distinct light green background. Geometric diamond motifs historically symbolised protection and family, while the framed circular layout highlights the weaver's personal creative expression.

Collector interest in Afghan hand-knotted rugs stems from their authentic craftsmanship and natural variations. Acquiring a piece from this tradition means bringing a living craft heritage into your modern home.

Hand knotted by skilled weavers in Afghanistan, this rug represents hours of patient manual labor. Every individual knot is tied by hand, resulting in a robust structure built to handle everyday life while retaining its character.

With a total weight of 9.7 kg across its 157 x 154 cm size, the dense construction demonstrates the substantial amount of wool material used. This weight ensures the rug lies flat and stays securely in place.

The hand-knotted process allows for subtle variations in texture and design, giving the rug its distinct human touch that machine production simply cannot recreate.

Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.
