As a genuine one-of-a-kind piece originating from Pakistan, this exact rug exists nowhere else in the world and will never be made again.

Owning it means bringing a completely unique piece of traditional craftsmanship into your interior, ensuring your space reflects a truly personal touch.

Bokhara rugs take their name from the ancient Silk Road trading hub of Bukhara in Central Asia, where nomadic and village weavers first exchanged these iconic textiles.

Over centuries, the weaving tradition migrated southward into Pakistan, where master artisans refined the craft while preserving the cherished aesthetic heritage of the region.

The 2ply designation in this rug refers to a construction method where two strands of wool are twisted together before being knotted into the foundation.

This two-ply technique produces a denser, more lustrous, and longer-lasting pile compared to single-ply alternatives, ensuring the surface resists crushing and retains its rich look over time.

The visual language of Bokhara rugs is defined by repeating gul motifs, which are stylised octagonal or elephant-foot medallions arranged in neat rows across the field.

Framed by geometric borders, these repeating elements create a sense of balanced symmetry and order that has remained beloved in interiors across the world for generations.

Collecting a Pakistan Bokhara means acquiring a tangible piece of textile history rooted in generations of human skill.

Owning such a craft tradition honours the heritage of the makers and brings a sense of enduring cultural weight and grounded authenticity into your living space.

This rug is entirely hand-knotted by skilled artisans who dedicate months of meticulous work to bring each piece to life.

Every individual knot is tied by hand, reflecting a level of human dedication and precision that no machine can ever replicate.

With a density of 250,000 knots per m2 packed across a 97 by 61 cm frame, the total knot count reaches approximately 147,825 individual knots.

Creating a piece of this scale requires immense patience, steady hands, and deep technical expertise passed down through generations.

Weighing 1.5 kg, the substantial construction demonstrates the density of the 100% wool materials used and the tight tension applied during the hand-knotting process.

This careful handcrafting ensures structural integrity, giving you a floor covering designed to endure decades of daily use.
