Heriz - A Warm Welcome for Your Home

This stunning, one-of-a-kind runner brings Middle Eastern artistry to your hallway, featuring the bold geometric motifs and rich, grounded tones characteristic of the legendary Heriz weaving tradition.
This one-of-a-kind runner is a statement piece designed to bring warmth and character to narrow spaces like hallways or entryways. As a hand-knotted treasure, it offers a tactile experience that machine-made alternatives simply cannot match, providing a deep, resilient pile that feels soft yet substantial underfoot.
The rug is crafted from wool, a natural material known for its ability to regulate temperature and provide excellent sound absorption. Its dense, high-quality construction ensures it can withstand the foot traffic of a busy home while maintaining its beauty for years to come.
Because each rug is entirely unique, you are acquiring a piece of functional art that will never be replicated. The bold geometric patterns and deep, earthy colour palette create a grounded, inviting atmosphere that anchors any room, making it a perfect addition for those who appreciate authentic craftsmanship.
The runner is a testament to Middle Eastern design, where every detail is carefully considered to enhance the comfort and aesthetic of your living space. Owning this piece means welcoming a tradition of skill and heritage into your home, ensuring that your floor is covered with something truly singular and enduring.
Heriz rugs originate from a region in the Middle East known for its rugged mountain landscapes and a long-standing tradition of weaving. These rugs are highly regarded for their durability and their distinctive, bold design language, which has been passed down through generations of skilled artisans.
The craftsmanship behind a Heriz rug is defined by a robust, hand-knotted construction that creates a dense and long-lasting pile. This traditional technique ensures that the rug is not only visually striking but also physically resilient, capable of serving a home for decades while retaining its structural integrity and depth.
Visually, Heriz rugs are celebrated for their large, geometric medallions and angular, abstract floral motifs. Unlike the more curvilinear designs found in other regions, the Heriz style favours a structured, graphic appearance, often framed by wide, elaborate borders that frame the central field with immense presence.
Collectors and homeowners value these rugs for their cultural significance and the clear evidence of human skill they represent. Owning a Heriz is an investment in a storied tradition, offering a sense of heritage and connection to the artisans who have perfected this specific style over many centuries.
This runner is entirely hand-knotted, a labour-intensive process that requires immense focus and patience from the weaver. With a precise knot density of 160.000 knots per m2, the creation of this 275 x 66 cm piece represents hundreds of hours of dedicated manual work. This high level of density is what gives the rug its exceptional durability and sharp, clear pattern definition.
The substantial weight of 10.9 kg is a clear indicator of the generous amount of high-quality wool used in its construction. This weight not only enhances the rug's longevity but also ensures it stays firmly in place, providing a grounded feel that speaks to the quality of the materials and the effort invested in every single row of knots.

Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.
