Hive - A Splash of Colour

Bring warmth and character to your home with the Hive rug, featuring a tactile pile and a vibrant, expressive design.
Enjoy the soft, welcoming feel beneath your feet with the Hive rug, thoughtfully crafted to bring both warmth and comforting acoustics to your living space.
Its dense pile absorbs sound and creates a cosy, quiet atmosphere in any room.
Designed for modern living, this piece is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems, allowing warmth to pass through naturally so your floors stay comfortable throughout the colder months.
Proudly made in India by skilled artisans, the rug reflects a high standard of craftsmanship.
Certified by Care & Fair, your purchase supports better working conditions and educational opportunities for weavers and their families.
To ensure peace of mind for you and your household, the rug is certified by OEKO-TEX, meaning it has been rigorously tested for harmful substances and is free from unwanted chemicals.

Design

The design features an array of overlapping organic shapes and pill-like forms, creating a dynamic composition that feels both playful and balanced.
Different sections incorporate varied tufting directions and subtle carved lines, adding depth and dimension to the surface.
The colour palette brings together tones of yellow, pink, orange, purple, and beige, resulting in a lively yet harmonious expression.
This piece suits modern interiors looking for a focal point that introduces warmth, colour, and tactile interest.
The Hive rug is carefully hand-tufted by skilled artisans who punch individual strands of yarn into a cotton foundation cloth according to the design outline.
This meticulous technique allows for both organic curves and precise details.
Creating a piece of this scale requires considerable time and human effort, with artisans spending days or even weeks bringing the intricate pile heights and motifs to life.
This dedication to craft ensures a durable and well-structured floor covering for your home.

60% Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

20% Viscose

Viscose is a synthetic fibre made from cellulose, which is a natural material found in plants. The material is often used to give a shine to rugs and to highlight details in a way that is found in silk rugs. Viscose rugs have a soft and beautiful shine that gives a luxurious feeling. The material is sensitive to liquids, which means that moisture can cause stains, shrink or make the fibres yellow. Therefore it is best if you avoid placing place your viscose rug in areas prone to humidity or risk of spills.

20% Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.

Care & Fair

Maintenance

  • To prevent shading and uneven wear, frequently rotate your rug.
  • Use a conventional hoover instead of a robotic cleaner to prevent any damage to the rug.
  • If you discover a loose thread on your rug, use scissors to gently cut it off. Avoid pulling the thread to prevent damage.
  • Rug suitable for use with underfloor heating (max. 27°C).
  • You may notice some shedding on your rug - this is completely normal and a sign of its high-quality natural fibres. The shedding will gradually lessen over time and does not affect the rug’s quality or lifespan. Regular hoovering with gentle suction and occasional brushing will help manage loose fibres and keep your rug looking beautiful for years to come.
  • Shake the rug outdoors to remove any excess dirt or debris.

Installation

  • For added safety, stability and floor protection, we recommend using an anti-slip pad underneath the rug (sold separately).
  • As you unpack your new rug, you may notice a slight smell, which is due to the rug being tightly packed during transport. This is normal and will go away after a few days.
  • Make sure your floor is completely dry before placing the rug.
  • The rug is sensitive to moisture, which can cause the fibers to shrink or discolor (e.g., turn yellow). To prevent this, avoid placing the rug in areas prone to humidity or spills.
  • Please be aware that trapped dirt, dust, or dampness under a rug may cause marks or scratches on sensitive floors.

Cleaning instructions

Do this
  • We recommend that you use Rugvista Stain Remover only on the wool parts of the rug, not on the viscose parts.
  • Spot clean only.
  • Address spills promptly to minimize staining. Blot the affected area gently with a dry, undyed cloth—never rub, as this may embed the stain further into the fibers.
  • For hard-to-remove stains, we recommend you contact a professional rug cleaner.
Avoid this
  • Do not wash
  • Do not bleach.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Do not iron.
  • Do not dry clean.
