Kazak FineHand KnottedRug

Brown / Beige121 x 173 cm

Kazak rugs trace their origins back to the rugged Caucasus region, where nomadic and village weavers developed striking geometric styles. Over generations, these weaving traditions migrated across neighboring regions, including Afghanistan, where skilled artisans continue to preserve and evolve these distinct designs.

The term Fine in this category signals a closely woven structure that allows for crisper visual details. By tying tight, individual knots across the cotton foundation, weavers can execute intricate border patterns and sharp geometric motifs with exceptional clarity.

Signature elements of Kazak design include bold geometric shapes, central diamond medallions, and intricate border systems. While traditional Kazak rugs often features deep red or blue fields, this piece utilizes a softer grey background, offering a refined, contemporary take on a historical aesthetic.

Prized by collectors and interior enthusiasts alike, Kazak rugs are celebrated for their expressive geometry and strong visual identity. Owning a hand-knotted piece connects your space to a centuries-old tradition of nomadic art.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan using traditional techniques, this rug represents hours of focused artisan labor. Each knot is placed individually by hand, securing the natural wool pile to create a sturdy, lasting structure.

Weighing 6.3 kg across its 173 x 121 cm dimensions, the density of the construction provides a firm, substantial feel underfoot. This weight demonstrates the generous amount of natural material woven into the piece.

The hand-knotting process creates a durable rug built to withstand years of daily use while retaining its original shape and visual character.
