Brown / Dark redRunner80 x 441 cm

Kazak rugs originally take their name from the Caucasus region, historically renowned for bold geometric designs and expressive motifs. Over generations, these weaving traditions migrated into neighbouring regions, including Afghanistan, where master weavers continue to preserve and interpret these classic patterns.

The term Fine in a Kazak rug indicates a more intricate knotting technique and finer yarn spinning. This refined approach allows the weaver to create more detailed geometric symbols, sharper border motifs, and a balanced overall composition compared to broader tribal weaves.

Visually, Kazak designs are defined by strong central medallions, geometric star patterns, and layered framing borders. While deep reds and blues are traditional, incorporating soft grey tones creates a harmonious contrast that highlights the historic animal and star motifs filling the field.

Appreciated by collectors for their strong graphic presence and cultural depth, Kazak rugs remain a timeless modern choice. Acquiring a hand-knotted Kazak means owning an authentic piece of textile history that brings real art onto the floor.

Hand-knotted entirely by hand in Afghanistan, this runner represents a significant investment of artisan time and skill. Every individual knot has been tied by hand to build the detailed geometric motifs across its 441 x 80 cm length.

At a substantial total weight of 10.6 kg, the piece demonstrates a remarkably dense structure and generous use of material. This heavy, solid build ensures the runner lies flat and retains its shape even in frequently walked areas.

The meticulous hand-knotting process creates a resilient pile that withstands daily living while preserving the sharp clarity of its classic pattern for decades to come.
