Klardasht - A Warm and Grounded Centerpiece

This authentic, one-of-a-kind Klardasht rug brings a rich sense of history and warmth to your home with its traditional design and deep, earthy tones.

This Klardasht rug offers an exceptionally cosy and tactile experience, thanks to its substantial Wool pile. The dense construction provides a soft, cushioned surface that feels wonderful underfoot while also serving to absorb sound and add a layer of natural insulation to any room in your home.

The deep red and dark accents create a warm, grounded visual presence that anchors your living space. Because this is a one-of-a-kind piece, you are acquiring a work of art that is truly singular, ensuring that your interior decor has a character and soul that cannot be replicated by mass-produced alternatives.

Originating from a region renowned for its distinct weaving traditions, this rug reflects a heritage of quality and thoughtful design. The balanced composition and intricate motifs are a testament to the skill involved in its creation, offering you a durable floor covering that is built to stand the test of time.

Owning a unique piece like this means embracing the natural variations that come with authentic craft. It is a genuine addition to your home that invites comfort and style, providing a lasting foundation for your interior that will remain a cherished feature for years to come.

Klardasht rugs originate from the mountainous regions of the Middle East, where local weaving traditions have been preserved for generations. These rugs are deeply connected to the geography and the nomadic history of the area, often reflecting the natural colours and rugged landscapes of the villages where they are produced.

The term Klardasht refers not only to the origin but also to a specific style of construction that emphasises durability and a thick, hearty pile. Unlike more delicate styles, these rugs were designed to be used in the daily life of the household, which is why they are often favoured for their ability to withstand heavy foot traffic while maintaining their appearance.

Visually, these rugs are defined by their bold geometric language. You will often find central diamond-shaped medallions surrounded by stylised floral or tribal motifs that draw from local folklore. The use of deep red fields contrasted with dark, earthy borders is a hallmark of the tradition, creating a strong sense of symmetry and balance.

Collecting a Klardasht rug is an investment in cultural heritage. Because each piece is the result of a weaver's individual interpretation of traditional patterns, owning one means you are preserving a unique piece of history. These rugs are highly valued for their authenticity and the way they bring a sense of genuine, time-honoured craft into a modern home.

This rug is meticulously hand-knotted by skilled artisans, a process that requires immense focus and patience. Given the size of 250 x 154 cm and its substantial weight of 17.3 kg, it is clear that a significant amount of high-quality material has been used to ensure a dense and resilient pile.

The laborious nature of this hand-knotted construction is what gives the rug its superior durability and structural integrity. Every knot is placed with intention, creating a robust finished product that reflects hours of dedicated human effort and a deep understanding of traditional weaving techniques.

Because the rug is crafted by hand, the final result possesses a level of character and authenticity that simply cannot be achieved through mechanical means. The weight and thickness of 11 mm are evidence of the dense material distribution, ensuring a heavy, high-quality feel that provides both stability and comfort in your living environment.

Ull
