Kelim Patchwork - A Home Built on Stories

Discover a truly one-of-a-kind runner handcrafted from authentic Middle Eastern flatwoven fragments, bringing vibrant character and warmth to your hallway.
This distinctive runner brings an inviting layer of warmth and character to your hallway or narrow living space, grounding your interior with an eclectic mix of textures. Underfoot, the 100% wool pile offers a comforting, tactile density that softens hard flooring and helps absorb sound for a calmer home environment.
Composed entirely of carefully curated vintage fragments, this piece celebrates the rich art of Middle Eastern flatweaving. Each section brings its own history, featuring a dynamic patchwork layout where no two segments are alike.
Because it is a genuinely one-of-a-kind creation, this exact rug exists nowhere else in the world. Once it finds a home, it can never be replicated or reordered, making it a truly personal addition to your interior.
The natural wool fibers provide reliable durability and a welcoming feel for everyday living, ensuring this artisanal runner remains a cherished focal point in your home for years to come.
Patchwork rugs draw upon a rich heritage of textile recycling and resourcefulness found across nomadic and village communities in the Middle East. Historically, when traditional flatwoven textiles and kelims sustained wear in certain areas, families would salvage the intact portions to create durable new household items.
This modern continuation of that tradition breathes new life into authentic vintage fragments, honoring the original hand-spinning and natural dyeing methods employed by regional weavers. Every individual patch carries the distinct aesthetic language of its specific weaving group, preserving traditional motifs that might otherwise be lost.
The visual arrangement combines geometric patterns, tribal symbols, and varied color palettes into a harmonious composition. This patchwork approach creates a vibrant dialogue between different regional styles, uniting diverse cultural narratives within a single floor covering.
Collecting a patchwork piece of this nature means acquiring a tangible piece of textile history. It represents a sustainable and thoughtful approach to interior styling, celebrating the enduring skill of generations of traditional makers.
Crafted with exceptional human effort, this runner is produced using traditional hand-woven techniques that require patience and precision. Skilled artisans hand-select and securely stitch together various vintage flatwoven fragments, ensuring each seam is reinforced for lasting structural integrity.
Weighing 5 kg across its 304 x 82 cm dimensions, this substantial runner reflects a dense construction and a generous use of natural materials. The meticulous hand assembly process transforms reclaimed textile art into a cohesive, sturdy floor covering designed to withstand everyday walking.

Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.
