Lori - A Grounded Addition to Your Home

This beautiful, one-of-a-kind Lori rug brings warmth and authentic character to any room with its deep, rich tones and striking geometric design.
Experience the comfort and depth of this hand-knotted Lori rug. Its plush pile offers a soft, tactile surface that warms your floors and adds a layer of comfort to your living space, making it a perfect choice for areas where you want to create a welcoming atmosphere.
The deep, grounding colours and bold geometric motifs create a sophisticated focal point for your room. Because this is a one-of-a-kind piece, you are acquiring a rug with its own distinct character, ensuring that no one else has a rug exactly like it in their home.
Beyond its visual appeal, this rug provides excellent sound absorption, helping to create a quieter, more peaceful environment. The quality of the wool pile is evident in the way it feels underfoot, providing a durable and resilient surface that holds its beauty even with everyday use.
Rooted in the rich traditions of the Middle East, this rug serves as a testament to the enduring appeal of handmade artistry. Owning this piece means bringing a genuine slice of history into your home, where it will continue to be a cherished part of your living space for years to come.
Lori rugs originate from the mountainous regions of the Middle East, where the nomadic and semi-nomadic tribes have maintained a tradition of weaving that stretches back generations. These rugs are highly regarded for their bold, honest aesthetic, which often reflects the rugged beauty of the landscapes from which they emerge.
The construction of a Lori rug is defined by its robust nature. By using traditional hand-knotting techniques, the weavers create a pile that is not only thick and durable but also capable of withstanding the demands of daily life. This longevity is a hallmark of the style, making these rugs highly prized for their practical value alongside their visual impact.
Visually, Lori rugs are known for their geometric language. While they often feature diamonds and tribal motifs, there is a certain fluidity to the way these shapes are arranged, often dictated by the weaver's memory rather than a rigid template. This gives each rug a unique, organic feel, with borders that frame the field in a way that feels intentional and balanced.
Collectors value Lori rugs for their authenticity and the human story behind every knot. Owning one is an investment in a craft that prioritises skill, regional heritage, and a deep connection to the material. It is more than just a floor covering; it is a piece of cultural history that brings a sense of groundedness and legacy to any modern home.
This rug is carefully hand-knotted, a process that requires immense patience and a steady hand. With a density of 160,000 knots per m2, the artisans have invested significant time and precision into every inch of the rug, ensuring that the geometric patterns are sharp and the pile is exceptionally dense.
The total weight of 12.2 kg is a clear indicator of the substantial amount of material and the intensive labour poured into its creation. This weight translates directly into a sturdy, long-lasting construction that maintains its shape and structural integrity, setting it apart from mass-produced alternatives.

Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.
