Najafabad - A Timeless Foundation for Your Home

This one-of-a-kind Najafabad rug brings classic elegance to your space, featuring a rich, dense wool pile and a deeply traditional floral design that stands as a unique testament to Middle Eastern artistry.
This Najafabad rug offers a luxurious and grounding presence in any room. With its generous pile, it provides exceptional warmth and sound absorption, creating a cosy atmosphere that invites you to relax and enjoy the tactile comfort beneath your feet.
The intricate floral motifs and central medallion are rendered in deep, resonant tones of red and blue, showcasing the sophisticated design language characteristic of its origin. Because this piece is one of a kind, the exact arrangement of these patterns and the subtle variations in colour make it a truly unique addition to your interior, one that will never be replicated.
Built for longevity, this rug is constructed from high-quality wool, ensuring it remains a staple in your home for many years. The density of the pile provides a resilient surface that handles daily life with grace, maintaining its plush feel and vibrant appearance through extended use.
Owning this rug means welcoming a genuine piece of Middle Eastern heritage into your home. Its presence elevates the surrounding decor, acting as a sophisticated focal point that balances traditional artistry with functional, lasting comfort.
Najafabad rugs originate from the city of Najafabad, located in the central part of the Middle East. This region has a long-standing tradition of rug weaving, deeply influenced by the nearby city of Isfahan, which is world-renowned for its artistic excellence and precision.
The technical construction of these rugs is defined by a sturdy foundation that supports a dense pile. This specific approach to layering materials ensures that the finished product is both substantial and durable, providing a weight and feel that signifies premium quality and traditional craftsmanship.
Visually, Najafabad rugs are celebrated for their classic Shah Abbas floral patterns and elaborate central medallions. These designs often feature flowing vines, palmettes, and delicate blossoms, typically set against a vibrant red field with deep blue and ivory accents in the borders, creating a balanced and harmonious aesthetic.
Collectors value these rugs for their ability to bridge the gap between grand artistic vision and practical home utility. Owning a Najafabad piece is an investment in a storied tradition of skill, representing a commitment to preserving the cultural heritage and meticulous techniques of Middle Eastern artisans.
This rug is meticulously hand-knotted, a labour-intensive process that ensures the highest level of durability and precision. By individually tying each knot onto the foundation, the artisans create a dense, robust structure that is far superior to machine-made alternatives.
The sheer scale of this piece, combined with the thousands of knots required to complete it, represents a significant investment of human skill and patience. This dedicated craftsmanship results in a rug with remarkable structural integrity, designed to withstand generations of use while retaining its intricate pattern clarity.
With a total weight of 44 kg, the substantial nature of this rug is a testament to the quality of the materials and the density of the hand-knotted construction. Every centimetre is filled with purpose and skill, ensuring that you are not just purchasing a floor covering, but a durable work of art built to endure.

The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.
