Discover this one-of-a-kind Patchwork runner from Turkey, bringing warm vintage character and distinct heritage into your home.

Dating back 20 to 50 years, this vintage Turkish Patchwork runner brings incredible character and individual history into your home. Each stitched section reveals a fragment of traditional craft, creating a captivating balance of floral motifs and geometric border patterns.

Crafted from natural wool, the soft pile offers a comfortable feel underfoot while retaining lasting quality. The balanced beige and multicolored palette delivers a subtle wash of colour that grounds a hallway or living space without overpowering surrounding decor.

Because this runner is completely one of a kind, no two pieces are ever the same. Acquiring this piece means bringing a unique work of textile art into your personal collection that cannot be replicated.

Designed as a low-profile runner, its slim surface sits comfortably beneath doors and alongside furniture, making it a functional choice for high-traffic thoroughfares like corridors and entryways.

Design

Featuring an assemblage of vintage carpet fragments, this runner displays a rich tapestry of floral motifs and tribal patterns.

The harmonised tones of muted beige, soft blue, and earthy red create a cohesive visual flow along the length of the runner.

Patchwork rugs originated as a creative way to preserve historic hand-knotted textiles from across Turkey. Artisans gathered carefully preserved fragments from vintage and antique rugs, giving old traditions a fresh, contemporary expression.

The craft involves sourcing worn or damaged heritage carpets, washing them, and cutting out the finest intact sections. These individual pieces are then hand-stitched together with strong threads and backed to create a durable, flat surface.

Visually, Patchwork rugs celebrate diversity in design. A single runner might combine delicate floral motifs from Anatolian villages with bold tribal borders from nomad weaving traditions, offering a rich summary of regional craft styles.

Today, vintage Patchwork pieces are highly valued by interior design enthusiasts and collectors alike. Owning one means holding a piece of Middle Eastern textile history that seamlessly bridges traditional artistry and modern living.

Hand knotted in Turkey using traditional techniques, this runner represents hours of skilled craftsmanship. Individual vintage rug sections were carefully selected, cut, and hand-sewn together to create a unified design from historic fragments.

Weighing 5.5 kg for its 204 x 77 cm dimensions, the dense construction and quality wool pile demonstrate substantial craftsmanship. Every seam and knot reflects the patience of experienced weavers preserving old-world textile traditions.

The process of creating a patchwork rug breathes new life into aged hand-knotted textiles, ensuring that decades of artisan skill continue to be enjoyed in contemporary homes.
