Patchwork - A Harmonious Blend of Colour and Texture

This round, one-of-a-kind patchwork rug brings a vibrant, soulful energy to your home. Expertly composed from hand-selected pieces, it offers a unique, tactile experience that blends tradition with a contemporary design sensibility.
This round patchwork rug serves as a striking focal point for any room, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere. Crafted from individual sections of hand-knotted Wool, each piece carries its own history and character, creating a rich, multi-layered visual experience that feels both grounded and modern.
The texture of this rug is deeply satisfying, providing a soft, dense pile that is comfortable underfoot and excellent for sound absorption. Because it is a one-of-a-kind creation, the specific arrangement of colours and patterns is unique to this rug, ensuring that you are bringing home a piece of functional art that can never be replicated.
The Wool construction offers a natural, resilient finish that stands up well to everyday life while maintaining its depth of colour. Its round shape adds a softness to interior spaces, breaking up straight lines and creating a more organic, balanced feel within your living environment.
Owning this piece means embracing the beauty of variety and history. The interplay of different shades creates a dynamic surface that changes subtly with the light, offering a vibrant character that evolves as you move around the rug, making it a truly special addition to your home.
Patchwork rugs represent a fascinating evolution in textile craft within the Middle East. Traditionally, when older, hand-knotted rugs suffered wear to specific areas, the remaining intact sections were salvaged rather than discarded. Skilled artisans would carefully cut these resilient pieces and reassemble them into new, vibrant compositions.
This practice of upcycling is rooted in a deep respect for the labour and materials involved in traditional rug making. By repurposing these fragments, the craft preserves the heritage of older designs while giving them a fresh, contemporary context that fits perfectly into modern living spaces.
The signature design of a patchwork rug is defined by its modular aesthetic. Each segment often displays unique variations in colour and weave, which are accentuated by the bold, clean lines of the assembly. The resulting pattern is an abstract mosaic that highlights the diversity of traditional dyeing and knotting techniques.
Collectors value these rugs for their ability to bridge the gap between historical craft and modern interior design. Owning one is an investment in a sustainable tradition, where the skill of generations is honoured through a process that creates something entirely new and irreplaceable.
This rug is created through a meticulous hand-knotted process, where each individual section is carefully assembled by skilled artisans. The construction involves a base of high-quality materials that ensures the rug remains durable and stable, despite its complex, multi-part design.
With a weight of 14 kg for this 200 x 200 cm piece, the density of the construction is immediately apparent. This significant weight is a direct result of the dense Wool pile and the robust foundation, requiring a substantial investment of time and focused human effort to bring together into a single, cohesive unit.
The precision required to join these distinct, hand-knotted segments so they lie perfectly flat and create a seamless round shape is a testament to the artisan's skill. This level of craftsmanship ensures that the rug is not only visually striking but also built to withstand years of use while retaining its structural integrity.

Wol
