Sirdjan - A Legacy of Tribal Artistry

This stunning, one-of-a-kind Sirdjan rug showcases the rich, geometric heritage of the Afshar weaving tradition, bringing warmth and character to any home.

This beautiful Sirdjan rug offers a deeply tactile experience, featuring a plush Wool pile that provides natural warmth and comfort underfoot. Its construction creates a substantial, grounding presence in a room, effectively absorbing sound and softening the acoustics of your living space.

The artistry of this piece is defined by its bold, geometric layout, which serves as a striking focal point in any interior. Because it is a one-of-a-kind creation, the specific arrangement of its motifs and the subtle variations in its rich, earthy tones make it a unique addition to your home that will never be replicated.

Rooted in the storied traditions of the Middle East, this rug carries a sense of history and authentic craft. Its design reflects a long-standing heritage of nomadic art, translating ancient cultural motifs into a contemporary aesthetic that feels both rooted and fresh.

Owning this rug means welcoming a genuine piece of textile history into your daily life. It is designed to be lived with, offering both aesthetic beauty and the kind of long-term durability that only authentic, high-quality Wool can provide.

The Sirdjan rugs are deeply connected to the Afshar tribes of the Middle Eastern plateau. Historically, these nomadic groups developed a distinct visual language characterised by their migratory lifestyle, drawing inspiration from the natural world and the geometric patterns found in their traditional textiles.

In the world of hand-knotted rugs, the term Afshar identifies a specific lineage of design that emphasises geometric precision. The knots are tied with a focus on creating a durable foundation, which is why these rugs have been prized for generations for their ability to remain intact even under heavy use.

The signature design elements of this tradition often include a central medallion or a repeating pattern of geometric shapes, such as the diamonds and latch-hook motifs seen here. These patterns are not merely decorative but serve as a symbolic narrative of the weaver's environment and tribal identity.

Collecting a Sirdjan rug is an investment in cultural heritage and human skill. These pieces are valued for their authenticity and the way they bridge the gap between ancient tribal life and modern interior design, offering a depth of character that mass-produced items simply cannot match.

This rug is entirely hand-knotted, a process that requires immense patience and a high level of technical precision. Each individual knot is tied by hand, ensuring that the pile is dense, secure, and built to withstand years of regular use.

With a density of 90,000 knots per m2, the creation of this rug represents hundreds of hours of focused effort by skilled artisans. This level of complexity is what gives the geometric patterns their clarity and ensures the rug maintains its structure and resilience over time.

The substantial weight of 6.9 kg across its 190 x 146 cm dimensions is a testament to the generous amount of Wool used in its construction. This density not only enhances the rug's durability but also contributes to its luxurious feel and ability to lie flat and secure in your home.

Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.
