Handloom Velvet - A Soft Touch of Nature

Bring a sense of calm to your home with this handloom rug, offering a dense pile and a rich green tone that feels wonderfully soft underfoot.
The Handloom Velvet rug brings a quiet comfort and natural warmth to your living space. Crafted from wool, it provides a soft and dense surface that feels cosy underfoot, making it a welcoming addition to any room where comfort is key.
With a medium pile height, this rug offers a plush feel while remaining highly practical. The low-profile construction fits easily under most doors and furniture, ensuring a smooth transition between different areas of your home.
Designed with modern living in mind, this rug is fully compatible with underfloor heating. This feature helps to distribute warmth evenly across your floor, keeping your home cosy and comfortable during the colder months.
Crafted in India, this piece reflects a rich tradition of textile making. The combination of natural wool and skilled craftsmanship ensures a durable rug that will bring comfort to your home for years to come.

Design

This rug features a solid green composition distributed evenly across the entire surface. With no pattern, it presents a uniform single-colored appearance that highlights the rich texture of the pile.
The olive green tones work beautifully to create a calm and grounded atmosphere. This minimalist design suits modern interiors, bringing a subtle touch of nature and colour without overwhelming your existing decor.
This rug is handmade using a traditional handloom technique, where skilled artisans weave the pile with care and precision. This method requires a high level of craft and patience, making each piece unique.
A handloom rug of this size can take several weeks to complete, reflecting the dedicated human effort involved in its creation. The process ensures a dense, durable pile that stands up to daily life.
By choosing a handloom piece, you are bringing a touch of authentic craftsmanship into your home. The subtle variations in the weave show the hand of the maker, giving the rug its distinct character.

80% Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

20% Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.

Care & Fair

Maintenance

  • To prevent shading and uneven wear, frequently rotate your rug.
  • Use a conventional hoover instead of a robotic cleaner to prevent any damage to the rug.
  • If you discover a loose thread on your rug, use scissors to gently cut it off. Avoid pulling the thread to prevent damage.
  • You may notice some shedding on your rug - this is completely normal and a sign of its high-quality natural fibres. The shedding will gradually lessen over time and does not affect the rug’s quality or lifespan. Regular hoovering with gentle suction and occasional brushing will help manage loose fibres and keep your rug looking beautiful for years to come.
  • Shake the rug outdoors to remove any excess dirt or debris.

Installation

  • Fold marks may occur during transport. This is not a manufacturing defect and is easy to remedy. Simply turn your rug over, roll it tightly, and leave it for a few hours. Finally, lay out your rug and wait a few days until your rug lays flat against the floor.
  • As you unpack your new rug, you may notice a slight smell, which is due to the rug being tightly packed during transport. This is normal and will go away after a few days.
  • Make sure your floor is completely dry before placing the rug.
  • We recommend using an anti-slip mat with this rug, as color migration may occur onto light-colored floors.
  • Please be aware that trapped dirt, dust, or dampness under a rug may cause marks or scratches on sensitive floors.

Cleaning instructions

Do this
  • Spot clean only.
  • Address spills promptly to minimize staining. Blot the affected area gently with a damp, undyed cloth—never rub, as this may embed the stain further into the fibers. Protect the floor beneath the rug by ensuring it's properly covered during the cleaning process.
  • We recommend that you use Rugvista Stain Remover for this type of rug.
  • For hard-to-remove stains, we recommend you contact a professional rug cleaner.
Avoid this
  • Do not wash
  • Do not bleach.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Do not iron.
  • Do not dry clean.
