Jute Ribbed - Bringing Natural Warmth to Your Floor

Discover the tactile warmth of this handmade jute runner, designed to bring a calm, grounded feel to your hallway.
Ground your hallway or narrow spaces with a runner that brings a welcoming and cosy feel to your home.
This piece offers a pleasant tactile experience underfoot, helping to absorb sound and create a quiet, calm atmosphere.
Crafted from jute and cotton, this runner combines natural fibres for a durable and considered addition to your interior.
The construction relies on natural materials to bring organic character and enduring quality to daily living.
Designed for modern homes, this piece is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems, allowing warmth to pass through naturally.
It is certified by Care & Fair, supporting fair working conditions and better living standards for weavers in India.
Originating from India, this runner reflects traditional hand-weaving skills passed down through generations.
Each piece represents hours of careful labour by skilled artisans, resulting in a reliable and honest home textile.

Design

The surface features a prominent ribbed pattern created by dense rows of natural fibres running horizontally across the runner.
This linear texture catches the light gently, creating subtle tonal variations that add depth to the floor.
The warm beige colour palette complements rustic and natural interior styles, bringing an earthy and grounded mood to your space.
It works well with wooden furniture and neutral tones to create a cohesive and welcoming room.
This runner is entirely hand-woven by skilled artisans in India, using traditional techniques that require immense focus and physical coordination.
Setting up the loom and carefully beating each row into place takes dedicated time and steady hands.
A hand-woven runner of this size and texture can take artisans several days to complete from start to finish.
This human effort ensures a level of sturdiness and distinct character that machines simply cannot replicate.
The process relies on a sturdy cotton warp combined with natural jute, resulting in a dense and supportive foundation.
Every stage of production is guided by years of craft knowledge, ensuring a reliable piece for your floor.

90% Jute

Jute is a natural material that consists of a long, soft and shiny plant fibre that can be spun into coarse and strong threads. Jute rugs are known for their natural texture, which makes them durable and highly resistant to wear and tear. They also have a higher sound insulation effect than for example synthetic rugs. Jute rugs are a sustainable option since they can be recycled and are biodegradable. The material is sensitive to moisture, therefore jute rugs should only be used indoors or outdoors under a roof.

10% Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.

Care & Fair

We are proud to be part of the organization CARE & FAIR. Their mission is to improve the living conditions of carpet weavers in India and their families through education and health

Care & Fair

Maintenance

  • To prevent shading and uneven wear, frequently rotate your rug.
  • Use a conventional hoover instead of a robotic cleaner to prevent any damage to the rug.
  • If you discover a loose thread on your rug, use scissors to gently cut it off. Avoid pulling the thread to prevent damage.
  • You may notice some shedding on your rug - this is completely normal and a sign of its high-quality natural fibres. The shedding will gradually lessen over time and does not affect the rug’s quality or lifespan. Regular hoovering with gentle suction and occasional brushing will help manage loose fibres and keep your rug looking beautiful for years to come.
  • Shake the rug outdoors to remove any excess dirt or debris.

Installation

  • Fold marks may occur during transport. This is not a manufacturing defect and is easy to remedy. Simply turn your rug over, roll it tightly, and leave it for a few hours. Finally, lay out your rug and wait a few days until your rug lays flat against the floor.
  • As you unpack your new rug, you may notice a slight smell, which is due to the rug being tightly packed during transport. This is normal and will go away after a few days.
  • Make sure your floor is completely dry before placing the rug.
  • The rug can bleach or change colour if exposed to direct sunlight; therefore, it is important to avoid placing the rugs in direct sunlight.
  • The rugs are sensitive to moisture, therefore they should only be used indoors or outdoors under a roof.
  • Please be aware that trapped dirt, dust, or dampness under a rug may cause marks or scratches on sensitive floors.

Care instructions

Do this
  • Address spills promptly to minimize staining. Blot the affected area gently with a damp, undyed cloth—never rub, as this may embed the stain further into the fibers. Protect the floor beneath the rug by ensuring it's properly covered during the cleaning process.
  • For hard-to-remove stains, we recommend you contact a professional rug cleaner.
Avoid this
  • Do not wash
  • Do not bleach.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Do not iron.
  • Do not dry clean.
