Ribban - A Calm Path for Your Home

Bring quiet warmth and a tactile wool texture to your hallway with the hand-woven Ribban runner.
Introduce a sense of grounded comfort to your hallway or narrow spaces with the Ribban runner. This piece brings a soft underfoot feel and natural warmth that makes coming home a pleasant experience every day.
Crafted entirely from pure wool, it offers a cosy and tactile surface that naturally resists daily wear. The traditional flat weave construction creates a sturdy feel while maintaining a low profile that fits smoothly beneath doors.
Designed for modern living, this rug is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems, letting warmth pass through evenly to keep your floors comfortable throughout the colder months. Because it is reversible, you can turn it over to share the wear and help it last even longer in busy areas of the home.
Proudly made in India by skilled craftspeople, each piece reflects hours of careful hand-weaving traditions. It also carries the Care and Fair certification, ensuring better working conditions and support for weavers and their families.

Design

The Ribban runner features a simple, unadorned design that puts the focus entirely on the rich texture of the weave. The subtle linear structure creates a calm visual rhythm along the length of the runner, offering a clean look that works naturally in hallways and entryways.
The muted grey colour palette lends a quiet, versatile character to the room. It suits rustic and scandinavian interiors alike, pairing easily with wooden floors and neutral tones to create a balanced, welcoming atmosphere.
The Ribban runner is carefully hand-woven by skilled artisans using traditional techniques passed down through generations. Creating a flat-woven rug of this size requires a high level of precision and patience, taking several days of dedicated work on a traditional loom.
The process begins by setting sturdy cotton warp threads to establish a strong foundation, after which wool weft yarns are tightly interwoven to form the distinctive textured surface. This human-led craft ensures that each piece has its own subtle character and durable construction.

80% Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

20% Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.

Care & Fair

We are proud to be part of the organization CARE & FAIR. Their mission is to improve the living conditions of carpet weavers in India and their families through education and health

Care & Fair

Maintenance

  • To prevent shading and uneven wear, frequently rotate your rug.
  • Use a conventional hoover instead of a robotic cleaner to prevent any damage to the rug.
  • If you discover a loose thread on your rug, use scissors to gently cut it off. Avoid pulling the thread to prevent damage.
  • Shake the rug outdoors to remove any excess dirt or debris.

Installation

  • Fold marks may occur during transport. This is not a manufacturing defect and is easy to remedy. Simply turn your rug over, roll it tightly, and leave it for a few hours. Finally, lay out your rug and wait a few days until your rug lays flat against the floor.
  • As you unpack your new rug, you may notice a slight smell, which is due to the rug being tightly packed during transport. This is normal and will go away after a few days.
  • Make sure your floor is completely dry before placing the rug.

Care instructions

Do this
  • Address spills promptly to minimize staining. Blot the affected area gently with a damp, undyed cloth—never rub, as this may embed the stain further into the fibers. Protect the floor beneath the rug by ensuring it's properly covered during the cleaning process.
  • We recommend that you use Rugvista Stain Remover for this type of rug.
  • For hard-to-remove stains, we recommend you contact a professional rug cleaner.
Avoid this
  • Do not wash
  • Do not bleach.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Do not iron.
