Ribbone - A Gentle Touch of Calm

Bring a sense of serene balance to your home with this tactile runner, featuring a thoughtful high-low pile construction that creates a subtle, layered texture.
The Ribbone runner offers a wonderful sensory experience, combining a soft Wool pile with a structured high-low design that feels inviting underfoot. Its layered surface adds depth and character to any hallway or narrow space, making it a perfect choice for those who appreciate considered, understated design.
Designed with both comfort and functionality in mind, this rug provides excellent warmth and natural sound-absorbing qualities. The Wool fibres are naturally resilient, ensuring that your runner maintains its appearance even in high-traffic areas of your home.
You can confidently use this piece in rooms with underfloor heating, as it is fully compatible with such systems. The thoughtful construction ensures that the heat passes through effectively, keeping your floors comfortable and cosy throughout the colder months.
As part of our Core collection, this runner represents our commitment to reliable quality and timeless style. Each piece is crafted with attention to detail, resulting in a durable and beautiful addition to your living space that brings a sense of calm to your daily life.

Design

The design of this runner centres on a rhythmic, striped pattern created through a clever high-low pile technique. This creates a subtle interplay of light and shadow across the surface, giving the rug a sophisticated and clean aesthetic that works beautifully in modern interiors.
The soft green tone provides a natural and calming palette, making it easy to integrate into a variety of home styles. Its minimalist approach ensures that the focus remains on the tactile quality and the elegant, linear flow of the pattern.
This runner is carefully hand-tufted by skilled artisans in India, a process that requires both time and a steady hand. By working on a frame, the craftspeople create the distinctive high-low texture, ensuring each loop and cut pile section is precisely placed to achieve the desired effect.
The creation of a hand-tufted rug is a labour-intensive endeavour that showcases the dedication of the makers. It can take several days for an artisan to complete a single runner, as they meticulously follow the design to ensure the final product meets our high standards for texture and durability.
By choosing a hand-tufted rug, you are supporting traditional craftsmanship that values the human touch over automated production. This level of care results in a product that feels more personal and possesses a unique character that machine-made alternatives simply cannot replicate.

80% Wool

Wool is a fantastic natural fibre with many benefits, it is durable and hard-wearing, which means that a rug made from wool can be used for several generations and maintain its quality. They are an excellent choice for keeping your rooms warm during the cold winter months and can reduce noise from everyday life. The material also has a natural dirt-repellent effect which makes wool rugs easy to keep clean. Wool has a natural elasticity, which means that when the pile is pressed down, it can easily bounce back to its original shape.

20% Cotton

Cotton is a natural material that makes them a suitable option for people with allergies. The material is soft, durable and resilient, which makes them practical and comfortable for high-traffic areas such as the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom.

Maintenance

  • To prevent shading and uneven wear, frequently rotate your rug.
  • Use a conventional hoover instead of a robotic cleaner to prevent any damage to the rug.
  • If you discover a loose thread on your rug, use scissors to gently cut it off. Avoid pulling the thread to prevent damage.
  • You may notice some shedding on your rug - this is completely normal and a sign of its high-quality natural fibres. The shedding will gradually lessen over time and does not affect the rug’s quality or lifespan. Regular hoovering with gentle suction and occasional brushing will help manage loose fibres and keep your rug looking beautiful for years to come.
  • Shake the rug outdoors to remove any excess dirt or debris.

Installation

  • For added safety, stability and floor protection, we recommend using an anti-slip pad underneath the rug (sold separately).
  • Fold marks may occur during transport. This is not a manufacturing defect and is easy to remedy. Simply turn your rug over, roll it tightly, and leave it for a few hours. Finally, lay out your rug and wait a few days until your rug lays flat against the floor.
  • As you unpack your new rug, you may notice a slight smell, which is due to the rug being tightly packed during transport. This is normal and will go away after a few days.
  • Please be aware that trapped dirt, dust, or dampness under a rug may cause marks or scratches on sensitive floors.

Care instructions

Do this
  • Address spills promptly to minimize staining. Blot the affected area gently with a damp, undyed cloth—never rub, as this may embed the stain further into the fibers. Protect the floor beneath the rug by ensuring it's properly covered during the cleaning process.
  • We recommend that you use Rugvista Stain Remover for this type of rug.
  • For hard-to-remove stains, we recommend you contact a professional rug cleaner.
Avoid this
  • Do not wash
  • Do not bleach.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Do not iron.
